Christopher Marvell
Christopher Marvell is a sculptor based in his garden studio in Cambridgeshire, where his large, vibrant workspace is filled with plaster moulds of animals and monumental, life-sized figures.
With thirty years of experience in casting bronze, Christopher has become deeply acquainted with the slow, repetitive, and often laborious process. However, he values the material’s versatility and the rich surface quality it offers. From the outset, his work has remained figurative, yet intentionally open to interpretation. As he puts it, “None of my sculptures are meant to represent anyone or anything in particular. They’re just a head, just an owl, just a dog. They are emblematic: shapes, forms, and emotions.”
