Cristal Arte

Overview

Founded in Turin in 1944 by Giovanni Donna, Cristal Arte was an Italian glassworking company with a special focus on continuing the work of Albano Marcario. Art and design duo Piero Monti and Giuseppe Raimondi were able to seamlessly blend postwar industrial design influences with more contemporary art. The result, in glass, was beautiful mirrors, tables, and glass—a kaleidoscopic display of Art Deco glamour. Cristal Arte production ceased in 1996 after the passing of Donna, but the existing authentic pieces remain as iconic as when they were first made.
