RICHARD SMITH GRAPHICS AND MULTIPLES: An exhibition at 8 Holland Street Bath Gallery

8 Holland Street is delighted to announce its summer exhibition featuring 30 graphic works by the renowned British artist Richard Smith, made in the 1970s and 1980s. The exhibition will be held at our Bath Gallery from 10 Octoer to 7 December 2024.

The exhibition will showcase a curated selection of Richard Smith's prints and paintings, highlighting his innovative approach to printmaking and his significant contributions to British art. Celebrated for his unique blend of abstraction and pop art, Smith's work explores the interplay between two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms with bold compositions and vibrant hues. ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

Richard Smith (1931-2016) was a pioneering British artist whose work bridged the gap between abstract expressionism and pop art. Smith studied at the Royal College of Art in London, where he experimented with various mediums, including painting, sculpture, and printmaking. His innovative use of colour and form challenged traditional artistic conventions and paved the way for future generations of artists.
