8 Holland Street are pleased to present a small retrospective of Modern British artist Clifford Ellis. The exhibition will coincide with a large public exhibition celebrating the artist’s work and that of his wife Rosemary at the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath. Works will include six large oil paintings from the 1950s, smaller gouaches, pencil studies and his iconic graphic works for designed London Underground and Shell from the 1930s. Some acquired directly from the artist’s estate, these will be shown alongside a group of works by Rosemary Ellis, including photography, and textile designs by their daughter Penelope.
