26 May - 6 July 2026
Overview

8 Holland Street is delighted to present a spotlight on Alma Laura de Felber, an online exhibition accompanied by a special selection of works on view at our Kensington gallery from 26 May - 06 July.  Bringing together a vibrant group of paintings, the presentation celebrates Alma Laura’s distinctive visual language and deeply personal approach to storytelling through paint.

Alma Laura de Felber is a Peruvian-born artist whose vibrant, figurative oil paintings explore identity, memory and human connection through a deeply personal lens. Born in Lima, Peru in 1949, Alma began painting when she moved to London at the age of 19, her practice is rooted in observation, instinct and storytelling.

“Painting keeps me sane. It makes me feel I am part of this universe. I feel alive. And it’s the moment when I  feel more comfortable”

Working with expressive brushwork, bold colour and playful, gestural compositions, Alma Laura captures fleeting moments, imagined narratives and emotional encounters. Her paintings move fluidly between themes of femininity, family, sexuality, race and the body, distilling memories and lived experiences into richly layered scenes that feel both intimate and universal.

Alma Laura’s work has been exhibited in solo presentations in London and Lima, and is held in private collections across Latin America, the United States and Europe.
