Arne Jacobsen

Overview

“If a building becomes architecture, then it is art.” - Arne Jacobsen

Arne Emil Jacobsen (1902 –1971) was a Danish architect and furniture designer. He is widely known and admired for his contribution to architectural functionalism and for the worldwide success of simple well-designed chairs. Arne was often ahead of his time and repeatedly showed an ability to anticipate future trends and developments. He had a lifelong passion for botany, many of which his designs feature an influence of nature in their free and organic shapes.
